Renowned for its creative approach to attracting fans, the Foshan Open has announced this year’s event in October with the unveiling of an exciting new version of its ‘Love Life, Love Golf’ promotional campaign. The innovative and inspirational theme that received widespread positive reviews last year has been refreshed and updated with new elements, designed to make this year’s event even more exciting and popular.

This year, the ‘Love Life, Love Golf’ campaign will focus on four key elements – Home, Environment, Love and Creativity. In the next 8 weeks leading up to start of the Foshan Open on Thursday 18th October, there will be a rollout of events, activities and enhanced experiences in support of these elements.

“We want our 30,000 fans, members and players to appreciate and get involved in the campaign and get that ‘good to be alive’ feeling,” said Julian Small, General Manager of the Foshan Golf Club. “Our venue is very lucky to be located in such amazing natural surroundings where wild life is thriving. The place really makes one feel good and so it’s been a perfect foundation on which to build our ‘Love Life, Love Golf’ theme. But we haven’t forgotten those who, through illness, disability or adverse circumstances are unable to come along and celebrate with us at the Foshan Open. We will be reaching out to them through charity and friendship events and sharing Foshan Open’s love with them too.”

Now in its 6th year, Foshan Open is acknowledged as one of the biggest prize money events on the European Challenge Tour. Attracting some of the brightest young golfing talents from up to almost 30 countries worldwide of whom some, such as Tyrrell Hatton and Matthew Fitzpatrick from England and our own Li Hao-tong, are now ranked among the top 50 players in the world. Perhaps, above all, is the general feeling among the players that this is as close to feeling at home as it gets on the Tour.

But Foshan Open is also widely acknowledged for its innovative and socially responsible approach. Through the years it has reached out to the community and particularly to children who are less fortunate. Each year, members of the Foshan Open event team visit the children at the Foshan Red Cross Hospital School. In 2014, with support from New World China, the school also received a 3-year donation (RMB 1 million in total) and, last year, received free golf clinics along with handicapped children from Guangzhou Huiling. In 2016, the event extended its community support by organizing an environmental and wild life walk for local autistic children.
