FGC is acknowledged as a Model Unit by Guangdong Sports Bureau

The launching ceremony of the 20th Sporting Goods Exhibition was co-organized by Guangdong Sports Bureau, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Affairs Bureau, Macao Special Administrative Region Government Sports Bureau and held at Guangzhou World Trade Center Expo in September.

Sports activities and model units in the Greater Bay were for the first time presented at the Expo, which continuously connects the market with the government. During the launching ceremony, the Foshan Golf Club received an award as Model Unit of the Guangdong Sports Industry from Guangdong Sports Bureau.

For years, we have been creativly and innovatively promoting golf in South China.

Foshan Golf Club has hosted the European Challenge Tour Foshan Open since 2013, as part of the 10-year commitment. Emerging golf talents from all around the world come to Foshan every October and compete for the Canton Cup. This year, the 7th Foshan Open will continue to create a fantastic and exciting golf spectacle for citizens in the Greater Bay and promote Foshan to the world.

The Foshan Open is more than just golf, it is also an international festival for families to have fun. Spectators can enjoy games and food at the village zone and learn to play golf and take photos with the pro stars, relaxing with family and friends in the beautiful surroundings.

The Foshan Open is also focusing on sustainability and aims to be a leading green event in South China by actions such as issuing e-tickets and promoting online to reduce paper and print. Replacement of traditional fuel using shuttle buses with more efficient ones, elimination as much as possible of single use plastic water bottles. In fact fans will be encouraged to collect any used water bottles and also to help sort garbage.

The Foshan Open has been offering opportunities to junior players to play with international golfers in the Foshan Open through qualifiers every year since 2013. The Club Junior Golf Team was set up in 2016 and in the same year, the creative Pro-Junior Competition kicked off. Beat the pro is also an activity where young golfers can play from the same tee with the international pros.

We also have programs to promote golf to school students and offer special experience to young reporters.

Every Wednesday is our Ladies Day and ladies are encouraged to play golf. The Club Ladies' Team was established in April this year and members can receive instruction from our coaching team every week. Ladies were also involved in the Long Putt Challenge in 2018 Foshan Open. This year, as part of the Foshan Open promotion series, the Shiwan Yubingshao Ladies Open was held from July to September, which attracted lady amateurs throughout the Greater Bay and created lots of fun and friendship. A new addition to 2019 Foshan Open is Ladies Day, which is designed to show the event cares very much that ladies have a thoroughly enjoyable time as well.

Every month our "Last Friday" event for local families features an outdoor movie and a fun chance to have a try at golf. It was a very relaxed environment where families could mingle and form friendships!

Foshan Open is the first international professional golf tournament to support charity in China. We've been focused on the wellness and happiness of people in the community, easpecially the life and future of those in need. Over RMB1.13 million charity money had been donated to charitable institutions over the years.

During the Foshan Open promotion series golfers were encouraged to support charity through the fun "9+2" Greater Bay Challenge.
